When pearly whites first begin erupting from your child’s jaw, you’re most likely going to like the process as much as they will: not very much. This eruption phase can be uneasy for the child, leaving their gums throbby and tender. Imagine the feeling of a new tooth emerging through some of the soft tissue spots of your oral cavity, and you’ll understand speedily why this is an uneasy phase for newborns.
To diminish some of the pains of teething for your child, we suggest you try to rub their gums with your (clean) fingers or a wet gauze pad. Soothing the sore gums is key, so try lower the temperature of your finger or the gauze pad with some cold water before rubbing your child’s gums. If this proves to be not enough, we suggest giving us a call for some advanced aid.
